Summer Time

Summer, my favorite time of the year.  June has been a busy month, but so fun.  I can't believe it's over already!  We took a vacation with our friends to the beach.  It couldn't have been better or more relaxing.  The kids loved every minute of the beach.  I get so excited when I see their faces light up as the waves crash over them.  I love the beach - the sand, the smell of salty air, and the calming feeling with the sound of each crashing wave.  I hope to one day be able to live there.  We were able to witness our baby cousin Kinley's first time at the beach and she wasn't afraid at all - go figure though, that little girl isn't afraid of anything.  We had a hard time keeping up with her!

While playing in the sand, Trace and I caught a tiny fish in our bucket, which I'm pretty sure he squished to death, but I let him because he was so amazed with it.  Peyton and Kerigan, her friend & cousin,  had a blast riding boogie boards.  I can remember taking them to the beach every summer since they were itty bitty.  Sara, her mom, and I have been friends for years - she's also Thomas' cousin - funny how things work out that way :-)  I had to go back and look at some of the older pictures of them - they are so adorable!

Thomas was able to fish every day.  That made his whole week - even if the fish weren't biting.  It was really windy while we were there, not so good for fishing, but great for the little ones to be outside.  We made some amazing memories at the beach this year.  Looking back at all the pictures, it helps me remember how truly blessed I am.  I hope we're able to go again next year and make more.

Peyton attended NCA Cheer Camp this month too.  She received a nomination for All American Cheerleader, the highest individual award given.  Once nominated she had to try out in front of NCA judges that night, a few girls were awarded All American Cheerleader - and guess who worked hard enough to win one - my Peyton!  I am so very proud of her for achieving this goal.  I know I've probably said it before, but she never ceases to amaze me with her drive and devotion to achieve everything she has.

In Trace news, he had an appointment with his GI doctor last week.  He gained a whole pound and is now back on the growth chart in the 1st percentile.  I can't express how happy that makes me.  He's really been doing so good lately.  He started private speech and occupational therapy twice a week this month.  I was worried he wouldn't be able to handle it, because we have to travel pretty far each way, but he loves it and has done really good!

Please keep sending up prayers for all of our mito babies and their families!!

I guess that's it for now.  Enjoy the Fourth of July!

Helicopter Ride

This weekend Trace was able to go on his annual helicopter ride with his daddy.  He loved it as much as last year.  Of course while up in the air, my baby is trying to hang over the side - no fear!  They passed over a train and Trace said choo-choo.  We're very proud of that!  Of course everything is a choo-choo - daddy's truck goes choo-choo, mommy's car and even the boat.  But he's being verbal and that's all that matters to me right now.  Here are some pictures of the ride followed by some of his cousin's first birthday party.  Fun weekend - we were even able to go out to dinner with some friends.  It was so fun, I can't remember the last time we went to dinner with friends and without kids.  Love my kiddos, but sometimes it's nice to get out without them :-)
